Occupational Therapy Services
  Occupational Therapy Services

Services for Private Individuals

Don't worry about trying to get to a hospital or clinic; our occupational therapist visits you in the comfort of your own home. We recognise that we are all individuals with our own ways of looking after ourselves and completing our daily routines which are particular to our own home and work environment. You will be able to talk about your independence difficulties with a qualified registered occupational therapist. We can offer remote occupational therapy assessments depending on the nature of your needs.

We seek to help you thrive and live your best life!

Daily Life

Activities of Daily Living are the core of everyday life and include getting ourselves up, washed, dressed; managing the bath, shower, or stairs; preparing food or drinks; moving around or going out.

Struggling with any of these is frustrating and tiring, and can lead to safety worries or other health concerns developing, such as depression and fatigue.

You will be able to discuss your difficulties with our occupational therapist, who can visit you in your home and provide an assessment and a range of personalised recommendations or rehabilitation to support independence, improve or manage limitations or disability, and reduce risk.

This can include:

  • -a rehabilitation programme,
  • -health education,
  • -lifestyle advice,
  • -equipment and environment adaptation recommendations, or
  • -compensations & strategy training.

Work

Returning to your job after illness can be daunting, particularly if you might need to manage your job differently.

We can:

          - assess your readiness to return to your job.

          - identify barriers to your return.

          - support you in discussions with your employer.

          - enable your employer to understand the impact of your condition.

          - develop a return-to-work plan with you and your manager.

          - recommend reasonable adjustments, equipment, or strategties to facilitate a              successful return to your employment.

We regularly complete workplace assessments, provide reports, and complete personalised vocational rehabilitation programmes to support you in achieving a return to your work.

Aids & Equipment

The use of an ideal piece of equipment or a change to your environment can be the difference between independence, needing expensive care, or moving elsewhere.

Many of our clients tell us they have bought disability equipment and found it costly and unhelpful when these have not suited their needs.

With our specialist knowledge in the use and application of adaptive equipment, we are able to assess your needs, identify suitable options and support your ability to use these independently.

Memory

For someone with memory problems life can feel disorganised, confusing, and anxiety provoking. For families this can be worrying and cause visits to be care visits instead of quality family time.

We assess memory and thinking processes and offer rehabilitation, strategy training, and equipment advice to improve or manage issues.

Care Assessments

It is reassuring to know the right amount of care is being purchased. Care costs can frequently be reduced by using the right piece of equipment.

We assess your diffiuclties, and after considering if equipment or environmental changes will reduce the amount of care required assist you to develop a streamlined care plan.
